Welcome

Welcome to Kentucky Conjurer.

Those local to the western side of Kentucky have smelled the first turn of dirt before corn and bean planting, have seen tornadoes follow the river, and have stood at the edge of the cornfield and listened to the wind whir through the stalks.

There is a special type of energy and magic that flows through this region. Chances are, you’ve been in the woods once or twice and saw something skitter off to the side, not quite blurry but not all there either. While not as widely known as the creatures of Appalachia, we have our own monsters and old gods here in the hills.

While the internet has made witchcraft studies more available to all, witchcraft practices have become so needlessly generic. We’re losing the old ways that made each family practice and region unique. I firmly believe that the energy of our body is connected to the energy of our land. When we use plants, stones, and dirt that come from where we live, there is a stronger connection to those beings than if we selected something foreign to our physical region.

So come follow along and learn about roots, dirts, water, and plants of western Kentucky and southwestern Indiana. I’ll be posting printable zines, articles, photos, and lesson studies to share what knowledge I have about working the dirt of Kentucky and its surrounding regions.

I host community meetups and educational events in the hope of leading a resurgence of regional witchcraft so please hit me up if you are in the area and we can talk Kentucky lore, superstitions, and witchcraft.
